The overriding purpose of ATTA, the Africa Travel and Tourism Association, is to create a focal point for the positive development of travel and Tourism in Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

With approaching 400 members, ATTA creates the platform for buyers across Europe to meet suppliers of African tourism product at networking events, trade shows and through its links with the media. The membership covers all sections of the tourism industry. They are drawn from those who supply the product including hotels, lodges, camps, airlines and ground operators and those who service the market throughout the world, tour and web-based operators, travel agents, representation companies, tourist boards and all sections of the media.

ATTA is not a regulatory authority and has no control over the activities and operational practices of its members. ATTA advises consumers that protection is available in the market covering their investment, security, insurance and health.
