DAY 1
Fly overnight from London to Nairobi and on to the Laikipia Plateau

DAYS 2 to 4
The OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY, 90,000 acres of wilderness on the LAIKIPIA PLATEAU, is home to black rhino, elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful plains game. There are also a number of rarer northern species such as Grevys zebra, Jacksons hartebeest and Beisa oryx.
Kicheche Laikipia is an intimate camp which accommodates a maximum of 12 guests in spacious safari-style tents overlooking a waterhole. You will take game drives and walk from camp and there is also a Lion Tracking programme within the conservancy and a Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

DAYS 5 to 7
A direct flight will take you to the game-rich plains of the OLARE MOTOROGI CONSERVANCY in the northern MASAI MARA. Here another small camp, Kicheche Bush Camp with six spacious, fully insect-proof custom designed tents will provide a relaxed and friendly home. Unfenced and secluded, animals can wander through camp at any time but your game viewing will also be by vehicle and on foot and you can choose to take with you picnic breakfasts, lunches and sundowners. The camp is located in a prime wildlife area which is also ideal to witness the wildebeest migration.
Kicheche’s Maasai guides will not only be willing to share their wealth of knowledge about the prolific flora and fauna but are also proud of their traditions, and happy to discuss their past and future in our ever-changing world. During your stay you might like to visit their local village or school and perhaps offer support through the award-winning Kicheche Community Project. While encouraging the preservation of the environment, it aims to improve the welfare of the community through better health and education facilities.

DAYS 8 to 10
After a flight via Nairobi to the beautiful southern coast, a complete contrast awaits you at DIANI BEACH where you will find the small and private WaterLovers Beach Resort. The owner/managers, Riccardo and Valentina, have created a haven which successfully brings together their Italian taste, Caribbean influences and the colouring of East-African tradition.

There are eight spacious suites located amongst the trees bordering the beach.  Each has a private veranda on which to sit, perfect for enjoying the glorious sea views, and the décor combines Swahili culture and Mediterranean style.  From air conditioners and fans to complementary wi-fi internet connection, everything has been thought of for a comfortable stay!  Quality and freshness are key elements in the exotic cuisine, a wonderful fusion of Mediterranean recipes and local ingredients.

Spend your time relaxing in the turtle-shaped pool, try your hand at wind or kite surfing, and kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing are all available either from WaterLovers or in the area. You can even play golf or maybe go out for the day on a traditional dhow, a perfect cruise to round off a wonderful holiday.

DAY 11
Fly via Nairobi overnight to London

What About?

Kenya offers some wonderful horseback safaris for riders of all abilities amongst stunning scenery. Tristan and Lucinda Voospuy started OFFBEAT SAFARIS in 1990 and are very experienced in providing some thrilling riding in remote area of Masailand and Laikipia. The thoroughbred horses are schooled to a very high standard and are tough and fit. The safaris cover as much as 30 miles in a day so riders also need to be fit! For the less adventurous, there are some lovely, gentle rides on their 5000 acre farm, Deloraine, situated in the Rift Valley. Offbeat Safaris also has a small and traditional camp in Meru National Park where days are tailored to suit you and activities include day and evening game drives, walking safaris, bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners and fly fishing in the local river.
