After recovering from your flight at peaceful RIVERTREES in Arusha, you will be collected by your private guide and driven to TarangireCredit: Marcus Wilson-Smith National Park, famous for its variety of raptors.

Here you will stay inside the Park at OLIVER'S CAMP in traditional safari tents well spaced out for privacy, comfortably furnished with an adjoining 'bathroom' section containing a bucket shower and long drop toilet. Credit: Marcus Wilson-Smith

From camp you will take game drives or walking safaris with your guide in the wilderness areas. Between July and October, there are huge number of elephants which are attracted by the abundant food on the marsh.

After two nights you will drive to the crater where, perched on the rim, is NGORONGORO SERENA LODGE with comfortable accommodation and outstanding views.

You will have plenty of time in which to explore the crater floor with your guide and enjoy the large number and variety of animals to be found there.

You will be driven across the plains of the Serengeti, arriving at the SERENGETI SAFARI CAMP, a semi-permanent camp which is pitched Credit: Marcus Wilson-Smithaccording to game movement (although it will be in a fixed location while you are there).

The accommodation is in traditional luxury safari tents with a long drop toilet and bucket shower but it is so well equipped and beautifully run that it feels far from basic.  The camp accommodates a maximum of  8 guests but you will still be in the care of your own guide.

Then to the coast for a short flight over to Zanzibar.  On the edge of historic Stonetown is the ZANZIBAR SERENA INN.  From here you can explore the town, taste the delights from the exotic night market in the Forodhani Gardens or simply relax taking in the glorious sunset.

Your final destination is the unspoilt island of Pemba where you will stay at romantic FUNDU LAGOON in a spacious tent nestling under palms, fringing the idyllic white sand beach.

Between February and May, the great migration turns the grasslands of the Serengeti into a continually moving mass of wildebeest, zebra and other antelope along with their predators!  For a very different experience, plan at least eight days into an itinerary to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.
