:: Where we go - Tanzania
Often referred to as the "cradle of mankind",
Tanzania is a kaleidoscope of landscapes, cultures and welcoming
smiles… a riotous assault of colours, smells and fleeting
images and a journey into an Africa of the past. Wandering
through twisting alleyways of Stone Town in Zanzibar, alive
with the scent of myriad spices and the haunting cry of the
muezzin; crouching low in the deep, shady undergrowth watching
a chimpanzee family; looking out over the open plains of the
Serengeti: a solitary Maasai warrior silhouetted against the
pearly dawn sky; a pack of wild dog and their puppies pondering
the wisdom of crossing a stretch of crocodile-infested waters;
like a mirage, snow-capped Kilmanjaro shimmers in the far
distance.

Vast
plains of the Serengeti, scattered with beautiful
rock kopjes and teeming with wildlife as the great migration
creates a continually moving mass of wildebeest, zebra,
numerous gazelles and predators that stretches as far
as the eye can see. Visit the southern Ndutu area in
February when the movement comes to a temporary halt
as the wildebeest give birth, greatly swelling the already
phenomenal numbers.
Ngorongoro Crater, a natural phenomenon
with thrilling game viewing
Selous Game Reserve, the oldest and
largest single reserve in Africa, traversed by impressive
sand rivers
Ruaha National Park, a wild and remote
park in southern Tanzania
Mahale and Katavi National Parks
– both off the beaten track but the tropical,
forested slopes of Mahale bordering Lake Tanganika and
the watery grassy plains of Chada both offer alternative
game viewing experiences
Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free
standing mountain in the world
Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia - idyllic
beach destinations with culture and history |
