:: Where we go - Zimbabwe

It has always been one of our favourite destinations and we now believe that there really is light at the end of what has been a very dark tunnel in Zimbabwe’s political and economic history. It is very exciting to be back in touch with our good friends and suppliers and to offer holidays again to this wonderful country. The hospitality and warmth of the people, the variety and sheer numbers of game, the vast areas of wilderness, the spectacular landscapes and the legacy of ancient civilisations all contribute to the rich experience.

Highlights

Game viewing is superb, especially in Hwange, Zimbabwe's largest and most varied National Park

Victoria Falls, The Smoke That Thunders, not just for the staggering Falls, most dramatic between February and May, but also for the rainforest alive with birds and small antelope, and for the bronze statue of David Livingstone reminding us of some of the area's history

Great Zimbabwe, the site of the most spectacular ruins in Africa south of the Sahara, once the centre of an immensely powerful state

Sunsets over Lake Kariba, stunningly beautiful colours and peace after a day game viewing in the neighbouring Matusadona National Park or fishing for tigerfish and bream

Matobo Hills, for intense rock formations and spiritual presence, chosen by Cecil Rhodes as his final resting place
