Robin Pope Safaris has earned a reputation around the world for offering perhaps the finest African photographic and walking safaris available. It is at two of Robin's small and intimate camps that your Zambian adventure begins.

On the banks of the Luangwa River, NKWALI CAMP has a welcoming atmosphere with excellent safari guides providing an authentic African game-viewing experience by vehicle or on foot.

Or relax in camp and from the bar watch the hippos in the river and elephants visiting the watering hole. It is also possible to take night drives into the Park using a spotlight to catch sight of more unusual nocturnal species.

The spacious rooms have high thatched roofs, open air "bathrooms" in an African style and sweeping river views.

You will then move deeper into the Park to TENA TENA. Located on a bend of the river, the camp is newly constructed each year for the dry season and is open between June and October.

There are only five tented rooms under thatch, carefully positioned for privacy. Each has a shaded sitting area overlooking a waterhole where the animals come down to drink, and the bathrooms are open air with woven bamboo sides

There are six originally designed tented rooms, and the dining room, library tent and riverside viewing deck offer stylish comfort.

For the length of your stay you will be assigned your own guide to accompany you on walking safaris, game drives by day and night and scenic boat trips.

Apart from visiting the Falls and the craft markets in the town of Livingstone, you can take boat trips on the river, canoe, fish and go on game drives to Mosi O Tunya National Park. White water rafting, bungee jumping, helicopter and microlight flights, horse riding and elephant back safaris are also available.

An interesting addition could be a walking safari, either between bush camps in the South Luangwa valley or in the remote North Luangwa National Park.  The source of the Luangwa River can be reached on an exciting camping and walking expedition, or a few days could be spent recapturing Sir Stewart Gore Browne’s dream by visiting his ‘Africa House’, Shiwa.
