The
itinerary starts at The Islands Of Siankaba,
a delightful lodge set on two islands in the Zambezi linked
by a timber suspension bridge. The accommodation is in spacious
and private tented rooms, each with a verandah overlooking
the river.
A visit to the FALLS is included and you
can book an aerial view by helicopter, light aircraft or microlight.
White water rafting and bungee jumping are amongst the host
of adrenaline-pumping activities. Or you may just prefer to
relax at the lodge with gentle sundown cruises, mokoro trips,
a spot of fishing or wandering along the nature trails.
A
scenic flight will take you to Mapula Lodge
in the north western seasonal flood plain of the OKAVANGO
DELTA. This is a prime game viewing wilderness area
with activities that include walking with experienced guides,
night drives in search of nocturnal species and tranquil mokoro
trails which are possible even in the dry season since there
permanent water nearby.
The traditional design and use of local materials in the
construction of the ten individual chalets, the raised decks,
a swimming pool and the emphasis on service all contribute
to make this lodge a welcome addition to our portfolio.
Next,
you will fly south to the MOREMI GAME RESERVE
where, in the Mombo concession, you will stay at Chief’s
Camp. The area is rightly renowned for excellent
game sightings including, uniquely for Botswana, white rhino.
The rooms are known as ‘bush pavilions’ - spacious
and secluded with thatched roofs, each with a private deck
complete with hammock - you will be tempted not to leave!
However, a complete change of scene awaits in CAPE
TOWN where you will not be disappointed by its sophistication
and bustling city life with a wonderful choice of restaurants.
Kensington Place, “the coolest bolthole
in the Cape…” (Tatler 2007) is a small hotel with
eight individually designed and decorated rooms and wonderful
views down over the city and of Table Mountain. There is a
pool and garden terrace where delicious breakfasts and light
lunches are served.
A hire car will be delivered to you, enabling easy exploration
of the city and the Cape Peninsular before driving up to the
famous Wine Region.
Le
Quartier Français, which manages to combine
privacy with a central location in the village of
FRANSCHHOEK, will be your base. The charming rooms
of this little boutique hotel have a secluded garden setting
and there is a small cinema - The Screening Room - where you
can sip local wine and savour a snack while enjoying your
choice of movie, ranging from old time classics to cinema
nouveau.
Known as the Gastronomic Capital of South Africa, Franschhoek
is surrounded by a number of famous vineyards and the main
street is lined with restaurants, art galleries and tempting
shops. Before you return home, be sure to have booked a table
in The Tasting Room, the restaurant of award winning chef
Margot Janse, at Le Quartier Français for an extra
treat.
