Leaving
London in the evening, by lunchtime the next day you will
be sitting down to a freshly prepared delicacy overlooking
a peaceful sandy beach by the INDIAN OCEAN.
The atmosphere at Ras Kutani is one of pure
relaxation – a perfect start for a honeymoon or any
romantic holiday!
We will have booked you into one of their four spacious Upepo
Suites, each set up on the hillside for seclusion with sweeping
views, private plunge pool and verandah. Local materials have
been used in the construction of the lodge and a soaring thatched
roof gives it a traditional Swahili style but contemporary
touches make these suites very special.
Should you be tempted to stir, snorkelling, kayaking, horse
riding, walks in the indigenous coastal forest and a variety
of wind water sports can all be enjoyed.
With
your batteries recharged and the African bush calling, it
is time to fly into the SELOUS, Africa's
largest game reserve, to an exclusive camp called Beho
Beho. You will explore the area by open safari vehicle,
on foot and in a boat and even have the chance to spend a
romantic night in their private Bush Nights camp with supper
under the stars and a tented gazebo sumptuously decorated
in Persian ‘1001 Nights’ style.
Back at Beho Beho, the individual stone and thatched cottages
are superb and the sitting and dining room, bar and the pool
have the atmosphere of a private house, designed to make you
feel ‘at home’. Fantastic food, a wonderful setting
and experienced guides who will tailor your stay to ensure
you use your time exactly as you might wish all combine to
make this one of the country’s top luxury safari experiences.
You
will now move on to an idyllic privately owned island in northern
Mozambique's QUIRIMBAS ARCHIPELAGO where
your home for the next few days will be a delightful palm-thatched
villa at Quilálea with wonderful sea
views. The island has a deep channel on the landward side
and some of the best from-the-shore snorkelling at all times
of the tide that we have found.
Natural rock walls, makuti thatch, large windows that allow
the breeze to blow through and colonial ceiling fans will
keep you gently cool but the rooms are air-conditioned as
well. The furniture has been crafted from indigenous teak
and mahogany by local carpenters and a king-size bed, draped
in netting, completes the romantic African/Arabian luxury.
Being
in a Marine Sanctuary, scuba diving in this area is superb
and sport fishing and deep-sea angling are also allowed outside
the protected zone.
A gourmet chef prepares delicious meals with Portuguese and
Goan influences which, for a romantic last night on the island,
can be served right on the water’s edge.
Your journey home includes a night at a delightful boutique
hotel, Oyster Bay, overlooking the ocean
in the northern suburb of DAR ES SALAAM and
very convenient for your daytime flight back to London.
